With a short sale, the mortgage company pays all “seller related” closing fees such as delinquent real estate taxes, title work and our real estate commission. That means a homeowner can get out of foreclosure even if they have no equity or are over mortgaged. When a loan is in default the mortgage company is losing money daily. The new HAMP program also offers $3,000 to pay the homeowner for moving expenses.
